WT - New Type Central Drive Sludge Scraper

A central drive sludge scraper is a mechanical equipment used in water treatment and wastewater sedimentation tanks to collect and remove settled sludge from the tank floor. It is commonly installed in circular clarifiers where continuous sludge removal is required for stable treatment performance. The system operates through a central drive mechanism that rotates scraper arms slowly across the tank bottom. This movement pushes sludge toward the center hopper, supporting efficient sludge discharge and improving the operation of wastewater treatment processes. In water treatment plants, the central drive sludge scraper is widely used in sedimentation and clarification systems to maintain consistent solids separation. It is designed to handle varying sludge loads while ensuring smooth and stable operation. The equipment is typically manufactured with stainless steel or corrosion-resistant materials, providing durability in harsh wastewater environments. Its structure is designed for long-term operation with reduced maintenance requirements. Overall, the central drive sludge scraper provides a reliable solution for sludge collection and removal in clarifier systems, supporting efficient solid-liquid separation in modern water treatment applications.
The BAF aeration system consists of a blower, air main pipe, air branch pipe, distribution square pipe, distribution branch pipe, and single-hole membrane aerator. The air source generated by the blower is distributed to the air branch pipe through the air main pipe.

Overview

The center drive scraper, also known as the underwater scraper for the concentration tank, is widely used for sludge discharge in radial flow primary sedimentation tanks, secondary sedimentation tanks, and concentration tanks. It scrapes the flocculated sedimented sludge towards the central collection pit at the bottom of the tank. Depending on the overall process structure and the combination of the tank bottom elevation, the sludge in the collection pit can be discharged using various methods such as pump extraction or gravity discharge.

Product Features

1. Overall performance: The dimensions of the machine meet the requirements of the tank structure, and the edge line speed of the scraper meets design requirements. The entire equipment operates smoothly and normally, without impact, vibration, or abnormal noise.

2. Equipment lifespan: The scraper operates without failure for no less than 8000 hours, and the overall lifespan of the machine is no less than fifteen years.

3. Equipped with a torque protection mechanism, which reacts sensitively and reliably, issuing an alarm signal and stopping operation when the set torque is reached.

4. Complete specifications and good sludge discharge effect.

Structure and Principle

The center drive scraper mainly consists of a drive device, center drive shaft, scraping wings, scraping plates, concentration grid bars, underwater bearings, electric systems, and other components. After the equipment is powered on, the scraper frame rotates slowly under the drive of the reducer, scraping the sludge settled at the bottom of the tank to the central collection pit. Its structure includes: 1. Motor, reducer, torque protector; 2. Motor controller; 3. Upper center shaft; 4. Lower center shaft; 5. Stainless steel tension rods; 6. Concentration grid bars; 7. Scraping wings; 8. Scraping plates; 9. Underwater bearings.

◇ Drive device: Includes motor and reducer, selected from well-known domestic and international brands according to customer requirements, and is equipped with a self-resetting mechanical torque protector. When the load on the scraping wings exceeds the carrying capacity, the mechanical torque protector cuts off the control power to stop the machine and issues a fault alarm signal. At this time, the control power is cut off, and the start button is not executed. After the fault is cleared, the mechanical torque protector must automatically reset before starting (power on).

◇ Motor controller: This is the core of controlling the center drive scraper, controlling the rotation of the scraper. It has three control modes: "local/stop/remote", and is equipped with circuit breakers, thermal relays, overload protection, moisture-proof and condensation-proof devices, operation indicators, and fault signals.

◇ Center drive shaft: The upper part is connected to the lifting drive shaft of the drive device, and the lower part is supported by underwater bearings. It has two balance tension rods to adjust the scraping wings, transmitting the driving force of the device to the left and right scraping wings, which rotate to drive the scraping plates to collect the sludge at the bottom of the tank to the central collection pit.
