Overview

The folded plate flocculation is a form of flocculation developed based on partition flocculation. It usually adopts a vertical flow type, placing a certain number of folded plates in the pool. The water flows in a tortuous manner between the folded plates, continuously expanding and diffusing, forming numerous vortex flows, which accelerates the mutual collision of particles in the water. Under the action of the flocculant, large flocculent bodies gradually form and settle down. The folded plate flocculation pool has strong adaptability to changes in raw water quantity and quality, short retention time, good flocculation effect, and can save flocculant dosage.

Main Technical Parameters

  • The flocculation time is 10-15 minutes. The flow rate between the folded plates is usually designed in segments, with no less than 3 segments; the spacing between the folded plates should be adjusted from large to small according to the water flow speed.
  • The flow rates for each segment are: First segment: 0.25-0.35 m/s; Second segment: 0.15-0.25 m/s; Third segment: 0.10-0.15 m/s.
  • The angle of the folded plates is 90° or 120°, and the wave height is 200-400 mm.
  • Manufacturing and Installation of Folded Plates

Material of Folded Plates:

Made of stainless steel plates with a thickness of 1-3 mm; made of ABS or PVC plates with a thickness of 8-10 mm.
Specifications of Folded Plates:

Can be processed according to the standard type provided by our company or design requirements; the folded plates are formed by a single plate being bent once, with a smooth and flat surface; the two sides of the folded plates are welded with a frame or edge plate to enhance the strength of the folded plates and fix them during installation. The structure can be in the form of an integral edge plate or a square steel frame combination; the welding between the folded plates and the frame or edge plate must be firm and without deformation.
